New Year’s resolutions for your small business

5th January 2018

The beginning of the New Year is the perfect time to reflect on your business’ development over past year and plan the year ahead. There is room for improvement in every business; here are our tips to help yours succeed in 2018.

Automate Business Processes

For most small businesses, a significant portion of time is taken up daily by manual processes and repetitive tasks, some of which could be implemented into an automated solution like a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.

Update Your Website

The main source of every business’ online presence is their website, making it an important asset to maintain. Web design trends change and evolve rapidly - it’s important that you keep up with these changes so you don’t fall short of your competitors.

Join a Networking Organisation

Networking holds great potential for small businesses – it’s a great way of sparking conversation between like-minded individuals and making new business contacts, all of which could lead to new business or opportunities.

Give Something Back

Those that give, get. Find a cause that matters to you or your business and offer help or support in some way - whether that be donating work or money to a charity, offering to mentor or speak publicly at an event, or even just sharing clients work on social media – you’ll not only feel great, your business will thank you for it.

We recently donated a 1966 World Cup picture signed by Geoff Hurst, to be auctioned, in order to support two local charities, and yes, it felt great.

Be More Social

Thanks to social media, you have the ability to reach thousands of new potential clients at your fingertips. Whether you like it or not, social media is now a huge part of both our personal and business lives. If someone is referred to your business, their first instinct is probably going to be to look up your business on Facebook – if they did, what would they find?

Organise An Event

Don’t wait for opportunities to find you, bring them to your door by organising a networking event at your offices or something similar. In this digital age, your event doesn’t have to be one that people attend physically - last November, we hosted a live-video event on Facebook to celebrate our 10th birthday.
